schmid sport was founded in Arosa in
1978. A ski instructor with many years of experience,
Hansjürg Schmid rented the Kulm Ski Hall from Hotel Kulm AG together with his wife
Annalies.The sports outfitter kept up with customer demand by undertaking major and minor renovations.
Already in
1990,
Luzia Schmid joined the family business. Her life partner for many years, the snow sports instructor
Peter Mattli, also brought in his expertise.
In
1999, schmid sport separated from Hotel Kulm and bought the premises. The sole proprietorship was converted into a public limited company in
2001.
A new schmid sportsman joined us at the end of April
2004:
Andri Mattli, the son of Luzia Schmid Mattli and Peter Mattli.
In
2010, the sports outfitter added a new schmid sport store at
Brüggli Arosa.
In July
2012, another member joined the schmid sport team:
Nico Mattli was welcomed by his brother Andri Mattli and his parents Luzia Schmid Mattli and Peter Mattli.
In
2015, the Kulm Ski Hall is being converted into the new, old schmid sport location:
Güetliweg 4, Zur Kulmwiese.
